2008 marked the eighth year of Children’s Theater at the Morgan Arts Centre. Our all-day theater camp is for children interested in and willing to perform in front of a live audience. They must be good readers with good memory recall and have average physical abilities.
We employ professional adult directors to work with the kids in teams of nine. Di and Mike are in charge of the production. Enrollment is limited to no more than 36 students.
Students of the Workshop experience all aspects of theater:
PERFORMANCE: acting, singing, and dancing
PRODUCTION: set design, building props, painting, costumes, and make up.
PROMOTION: making posters and tickets, baking goodies to sell, and running the concession stand at intermission.
Afterwards, the money made at the concession stand is equally divided and given to the students.
